The Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus, built in the 4th century BC, is one of the best-preserved classical Greek theatres. Ticket price is 20€/person

unforgettable adventure begins at Yialasi Beach, just a short walk from the heart of Epidaurus. From there, we’ll paddle westward toward the legendary Sunken City, often called Argolida’s Lost Atlantis, with a stunning view of the dramatic Methana Volcano in the distance.

Dating back to 1200 BC, the submerged ruins include ancient walls, building foundations, massive amphorae, and parts of a preserved breakwater—all lying just meters below the surface and a few strokes from the shore. At only two meters deep, the site is ideal for snorkeling, underwater exploration, and photography. Once we arrive, we’ll provide you with masks to swim through the ruins, observe colorful marine life, and absorb the serene, healing energy for which Epidaurus is renowned.

When it’s finally time to leave the water, we’ll continue to the Little Theatre of Epidaurus. Nestled in the area of Nisi near the port of Palea Epidaurus, this ancient theatre once served as a venue for dramatic, religious, and political events in the classical city-state. Discovered beneath olive trees in the 1970s, the theatre dates to the 4th century BC. Though modest in size—with 9 tiers and 18 rows for around 2,000 spectators—it reveals inscriptions linking it to Dionysus, the god of theatre and wine.

Later renovated in Roman times, the theatre is believed to have ceased use before the 2nd century AD, as it wasn’t mentioned by the ancient traveler Pausanias. Today, thanks to extensive restoration, the Little Theatre hosts the annual Greek Festival each summer, welcoming audiences to performances in both ancient and modern Greek. Seating has been restored for 800 guests, with ongoing efforts to expand.

To conclude our day, we’ll visit “Athina EcoFarm,” a peaceful haven where you’ll unwind with a delicious meal made from local organic ingredients. Cultivated with traditional methods, the food reflects the deep roots of Greek culinary heritage.

With hearts full of history, flavor, and nature’s beauty, we’ll return to our starting point, ending a truly enriching journey through the culture of Epidaurus.
